We are so thankful for our nearly 2,500 volunteers who act as troop leaders, Girl Scout Cookie Chairs, and in a variety of other time-consuming and effort-demanding positions that enable local girls to fully participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. These exceptional people generously donate their time and talent free of charge to prepare the country's next generation of female leaders!

We are currently seeking award nominations for worthy Girl Scout volunteers. If you've had a positive experience with a Girl Scout troop leader or any Girl Scout volunteer, visit http://www.girlscoutsni.org/volunteer-resources to nominate them for an award. Awards include Volunteer of Excellence, Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin, Thanks Badge, Thanks Badge II, President's Award, and Hall of Fame Award. New this year, all nominations—with the exception of Hall of Fame—can be submitted via an easy, online form.

Award recipient Angela Juneau shared her recognition story with us recently. Check it out below!

You know who you are! Winter is your favorite time to play.  You spend all summer sketching your future snow fort designs.  We can see your map over there of the best sledding hills for miles around.  Are those emergency snowman supplies still in the family car?

Some of us might not look at winter this way, but with Girl Scouts, we love to focus on all the great fun only possible in winter.  Here, winter doesn’t have a bad rap.   Winter is one of the most enjoyable and most beautiful times at our camps.
And the best part is, we have some great events happening so you can join in the fun without all the planning!

The 2015 - 2016 Girl Scout Year has started and we couldn't be more excited!

Join us at a Girl Scout Volunteer Town Hall where we will update you on a few projects we've going on this year. We will share the findings of our Long Range Program Study which will have long term implications on the programs we offer and how and where we offer them. We want for you to know about these changes first! We'll introduce you to the Membership Engagement Initiative which is being rolled out across all councils in the country. When we met with Service Unit Managers, they were really excited about this! Finally, it's the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scout Gold Award next year, so you will hear about changes to the way we manage and celebrate our Highest Awards. Girl Scout Volunteer Town Halls are open to Girl Scout members age 14 and above.
