The following post is a message from Vice President of Membership, Volunteerism, and Program, Stacie Simpson.
As you kick off the new Girl Scout membership year, we know that you’re looking for educational and FUN activities to do with girls. Events are the perfect way to incorporate cooperative learning and learning-by-doing with a girl-led component.
We know your fall calendar is already filling up – between troop meetings, school field trips, weekend family trips, plus the usual work and play. GSNI understands that, especially during the start of school, you don’t have time for anything extra. That’s why the majority of our events are scheduled in October or after. Starting September 15, you’ll be able to browse council-sponsored events in two convenient ways:
- The pdf guide on our website (hover over “About Us” and click “Publications”). This 12-page pdf shows you each event in chronological order and includes the basic info. You’ll also find detailed information about how to register, our cancelation and refund policies, and more. It’s also the easiest way to print out the information and bring it along to a troop meeting or share it with a friend. [NOTE: The pdf guide has been posted as of today, but online registration will not open until September 15, 2014]
- The online activities catalog on our website (“Click Here to Register,” then “Activities”). The catalog is so convenient because it’s totally searchable! You can filter by grade, county location or date range to find an event that works for you. This is the same place you can find volunteer trainings and events.
