Calling all Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassador Girl Scouts! GSNI is looking for your input!

We are forming a Girl Advisory Committee, comprised of girls from all over the council. In this committee, girls can share their opinions, ideas, and preferences with council staff. Do you have an idea for a super cool one-day event? Were you talking just last week with some friends about something new that you really, really want to do at camp? Do you daydream about an amazing travel experience? We want to hear it all!

Start sharing your ideas! Come to one of our introductory meetings to help build the committee that you want to be a part of!

Nominations are being sought for the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a program sponsored by Prudential Financial. This program recognizes young people solely on their volunteer service. GSNI can nominate girls in grades 5 – 8 and 9 – 12. Girls who have recently earned their Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards would be excellent candidates.

With summer winding down, families are beginning to plan their back to school routines and get ready for Fall. For troop leaders and volunteers, it’s a natural time to start looking ahead to incorporate new activities into troop meetings – with the girls’ input of course!

Using the Healthy Habits Journeys companion booklets, it’s easy to find fun, practical ways to bring healthy living into the scouting experience for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. The booklets contain tips and activities that correspond to the “It’s Your Planet – Love it!” Journeys. They are free to download and available in Spanish too!
